Show & Tell Tuesday!

Getting ready for SCHOOL with a new book bag & lunch bag!
Emily had to do something to make her mesh bag more her style.

Looks like I'm ready for St. Patrick's Day :)
I had to get something monogrammed for myself too!
The above is a handmade tote, I got last year.
It's much cuter with a monogram on it!

I ordered some Kate Spade Glitter Earrings for myself (they're on sale right now!), then my daughter decided she wanted some!  We thought it'd be fun to make her a pair too!

Here's a look at our Kate Spade DIY Earrings!
Seriously, I did it (ha ha)
I joked about making them to a friend this morning and look at me actually doing it
...Yes, I'm totally crazy!
BUT...
Who doesn't need a little sparkle?

You can buy some cheap studs at Walmart for $2.88!
You can make your studs any color you like ~ just find some glitter nail polish!

Emily wanted Rock Star Pink, which kind of looks more purple to me, but she loved it!
After it dries add some Mod Podge to make sure it doesn't rub off!  There ya have it ~

Friday's Favorites!

#1 Flats and Jeans

This pair is by Blowfish Malibu and they're super comfy!

I've been wearing my new jeans...liked them so much I went back and got a couple of different colors so I'll be ready for Fall!  They were on sale at both Macy's and Belk.

#2 Target: Shopping with Emily

Emily got some boots from Target!  This girl loves SHOES!  I went ahead and got them early because it's always hard to find her size at Target and she always wants boots!  She had a red pair and a silver pair last year.  Her favorite is the brown ones below, but we also got the black lace ones because they were on clearance! She wore the black ones this week and is saving the brown ones for later.
She says the baby needs a pink pair!  We'll have to be on the look out for that!

#3 Baby Dolls

Hailey's favorite this week has been her baby doll!  She loves playing with baby dolls. I just love that she's so girly and likes dolls.  She also loves books and the ones pictured below have been this week's favorites!

  Miss Independent
She's been trying to feed herself this week!
She was so ready for a BATH when Daddy got home.

#4 Goodwill Finds are always a favorite!

I have seen faux fur vests on pinterest and I'm not sure if I can pull it off myself or not!?  I  don't want to spend $100 bucks on one if I don't wear it!  I found this one at Goodwill! What do you think?  It's a little small but I think I could get away with it if I don't button it up and leave it open.  #tryingtobemoretrendy

Look Out! Emmaj got herself some skinny jeans to wear with her boots!
You just can't beat $2 dollar jeans!  She is also pinning like a mad women on pinterest!
She's getting more into Fashion and I'm thinking I should start asking her for advice! :)

I got a pair of $4 dollar jeans at Goodwill and Trey nicely told me, "Oh, those are great to wear around the house!"  Ha ha, that's a nice way to say it!  I'm glad he was honest with me because I don't have a clue as to what works and what doesn't :)  He did like the Celebrity Pink jeans so I'm good!

#5 Packages in the Mail:  Soniclear

I got a Soniclear in the mail this week!  I haven't used it but am excited to try it out.  It was a Today's Show "Jill's Deals & Steal" bargain that was so popular I didn't know if I was really getting one or not. I had thought about the Clarisonic, but couldn't see paying so much money! It's $149... (on sale this week for $119!) Happy I found a deal on this one because I don't think I'd ever pay that much for it...ever! I got the Soniclear for $44 shipped! I've read some reviews where people like this one more! I hope I like it period.  I have no idea what type of facial cleanser I should use with it.  Any advice?

Show & Tell Tuesday

I enjoy finding out about products, that others LOVE, because I have a hard time deciding what to try-out...who wants to spend money on something that's not good, right? :)

Here's a list of some of my favorite products below!

1.   Cajun Shrimp by OPI:  This nail polish is a like a spicy shade of coral ~ it's perfect!

2.  Osis+:  My secret hair power!  This stuff works really well to help give you volume!

3. Olay Total Effects:  This has been a favorite moisturizer for a long time, but I am wanting to find something that'll work better!  Any Advice?

4. Pacifica Body Butter:  I like the Hawaiian Ruby Guava lotion the best ~ smells like fruit punch.  I like to use it on my legs when I wear shorts.

5. COCO Mademoiselle:  This is the absolute best Chanel perfume in my opinion ~ I can't live without it!

6. Hand Gel Bath & Body Works:  I just love the smell of the Pink Chiffon!  It leaves you feeling clean and a must-have to carry in your bag.

7. Wet Brush:  This is the best hairbrush hands down!  The small one is great for carrying in your handbag, but the bigger size is perfect for use at home.  You have got to pick one up next time you're in Target!

8. Rimmel Scandal Eyes:  I always wear waterproof mascara in the Summer.  I'm still looking for the "perfect" mascara and eye lash curler ~ my lashes are really long and it's hard to keep them curled up.

9. Stila Eye Shadow:  I've been using gold glow!

10. Lasting Finish by Kate:  #104  This is a very pretty everyday color that I love!

11. Lancome Lip Lover:  #314 This is the BEST lip gloss I've ever had!

Monday's Weekend Review

I was able to get a ton of Back-To-School supplies at Target!  I enjoyed being able to shop without having a crowd of people around me.  We were able to hit the section just after they put things out!  Last year, it was awful not being able to find things that were needed after it was so picked over.  I would still like to pick up a couple of new uniform shirts and dresses.

Friday we had steak & corn for dinner ~ Yum!  Saturday, the kids helped Meema plant flowers while Trey and I went out looking for SKINNY jeans, ha ha!  Yep, I finally got a pair that I think fit okay on me!  They were on sale too which is always a bonus.  If you're interested in them...the brand was Celebrity Pink Jeans and they are so soft ~ you'll love them! Here I am wearing them with my new Hunter rain boots.  I only wore them from my house to my Mom's house while it rained a little ~ took advance of the rain to try them out.  I got them online ~ major deal that I didn't know whether my order would be canceled or not!  The first time I tried to order a pair my order was canceled because the price was so cheep that they said it was a computer error! This time I scored!
They only had them in sizes 6, 7, 8, 9!  I wear a 9 1/2  (Big Foot) and I thought maybe they wouldn't fit me, but I read online you should size down a 1/2 size so I went for it!  The only color they had was sky blue, but I think that color is great!  Now I just need to find a rain jacket!  I think maybe they'd look good with a red one with a monogram in aqua.  What do you think?

The kids enjoy breakfast at church every morning on Sundays!
The baby was happy they had strawberries! I was happy I remembered to bring her a bib!

After Sunday School, we went shopping downtown!  I checked out the Anthropologie store and the kids were excited to check out Planet Fun!  I was hoping maybe we'd see Adam Sandler who's in town filming a movie, but we didn't have that luck.

In the Pines ~ Our Mountain Adventure!

♫  In the pines, in the pines
Where the sun never shines
And we shiver when the cold wind blows
Who who hoo hoo hoo, who who hoo hoo hoo ♫
~ Bill Monroe Song ~

We spent a few days in the
North Georgia/North Carolina Mountains!
It rained EVERYDAY, but we made the most of it!

The neighbor told us as soon as we arrived that they had seen a BEAR on the property!!
We were scared of SHARKS in Daytona
and now we were on high alert for BEARS while in the mountains!
I guess it's true ~ Sharks live in the ocean and Bears live in the mountains!

Someone may or may not have been scared to go to sleep because of the BEARS!

The old Georgia State Flag was flying outside the cabin.
It's a tradition for us to put it up while we are staying at the cabin.
We are Southern & Proud!

First things first....where's the BBQ?

We ate BBQ at one of our favorite restaurants in North Georgia... "Oinkers!"
It was really good, but the BEST BBQ is still "Fresh Air BBQ!"
I've been in a Food Fight with my brother Jason and we've been texting photos back and forth with who's having the best meal.  I may have won this battle, but the war rages on!

We checked out a few flea markets and cute shops!  Van found a Wii game...he was pretty excited to find a great deal.  They both made souvenir pennies and had fun looking at all the odd & unusual finds inside the mountain shops.  We didn't buy a lot, but enjoyed "window" shopping!

We stopped at the Railroad Museum, but didn't pay to go inside.
We just looked around at the stuff outside!
Yep, we were cheap and tried not to spend too much money on our vacation.

My cell phone didn't work in the Mountains and the cabin didn't have a phone!
Cozy cabin family time, huh?
I really didn't like that we didn't have a phone at all ~ made me feel unsafe in a way.

We were able to watch some Redbox movies because the cabin had a DVD player and a TV.  However, when we checked out the local Goodwill we found brand new board games for 50 cents each!!  We played Beat the Parents, Would You Rather...?, and Sorry!  I've linked them up ~ so if you click on the names you'll find them on Amazon.  They cost a little more online!  It was fun to find the games so cheap!  The Goodwill up there in NC was AWESOME...Emily even found a new pair of Hello Kitty sandals for $1.00!

Family game time was really FUN!
The kids laughed so hard and really enjoyed playing all of the games,
but they liked the game "Would You Rather...?" the best.

Hailey wasn't too interested in the board games, but was on her phone a lot!
She must have Verizon instead of Sprint!

The kids LOVE gem mining, so we made a stop at Jackson Hole where they shared the ultimate bucket of dirt!  They really enjoyed looking for treasure and found some good ones!  The store told them the names of the stones they found and bagged them up for them.

We saw some pretty flowers too!
It was always raining on and off everyday so you can see rain drops on some of the flowers.
Aren't they pretty?

My Dad nicknamed me the "Tin Man" from the Wizard of Oz ~ ya know, cause I have no heart <3
I should have bought it, huh?

We always enjoy hiking to waterfalls and we went to our favorites once again!
We thought we could do this on July 4th and catch the fireworks in town at night.
I'm pretty sure everyone up there had the same idea because it was crowded.

Hailey and I tried to take a selfie.
I love how she stuck out her tongue!!

Here's a look at Dry Falls!
You can walk under the waterfall and keep "dry!"

The waterfall drops 80 feet!

We had to have lunch at my childhood Dairy Queen!  It has the biggest tree in the front!
This is the DQ my grandfather took me to for a treat after I found the truck keys that were LOST in a field!  We had to search on our hands and knees for those things!
The kids loved the big tree and the food too!

 Fireworks!  Fun, right?
Hailey did NOT like them!
Same as last year at Stone Mountain! ~ She SCREAMED!

We moved into the car and watched the fireworks after Hailey started screaming, but before they went off the kids enjoyed trying to catch lightning bugs!  Trey and I had to show them how to catch them.

I finally found the lotion on Pinterest that everyone says keeps the mosquitoes away!
Did it work?  Well, I'm not sure because I didn't see any mosquitoes while we were at the cabin.

The baby may not have liked fireworks, but she LOVED playing with a small flashlight!
One small flashlight may or may not have mysteriously ended up back home!
At least she didn't throw it in the trash can which is a new game she has started to play!

I have been to Cherokee, NC many times!
Growing up I learned all about how we have Cherokee roots in our family.
As you might notice in photos...I didn't get my skin color from that side of my family!
I went to Pow-Pows and learned a lot about history from my Dad.
Here's a picture of me & my brother Jason with Chief Henry.
Hey Jason, do you remember when you lost a game of Tic-Tac-Toe to a
CHICKEN in Cherokee ~  that was a funny day!

Here's a picture of my old moccasins and a beaded ponytail holder.  It's funny how your memory can be fuzzy on some things but so clear on other things.  It's strange what we can and can't remember!
I do remember wearing both of these items as a child.

Here are our kids making their own Cherokee memories...

Looks like Daddy is trying to feed the baby to the bear!

Hailey got a little drum (she made me buy it!).  Could YOU say "no" to her?
You couldn't take the thing away from her without her screaming!
It was so cute watching her hum along to the music playing in the shops ~ her inner Indian was coming out!

YUM, we had to have a snack!

Emily agreed to be my model as you can see in the photos!
She had fun running around mud & water puddles finding bears!

BEARS!
 Yonu = (yoh-nuh) = Bear

We had to have Boiled Peanuts while in the mountains!

The prettiest day outside turned out to be the day we had to head back home!
Blue Skies!

We ended up on long boring back roads!
It rained only a little...enough to give us a Rainbow to end our trip!
