Five on Friday!

ONE

Fringe is popular for Fall this year it seems from looking all over Pinterest!  

I've been trying to think ahead. There are some cute handbags that I saw online, but I don't want to spend money on this trend.  I really want a classic handbag for Fall/Winter and not one like these pictured below. They do seem cute.  I just happened to find a fringe handbag at Goodwill for $5 dollars the other day and went ahead and got it.  For $5 bucks I might carry it a couple of times if it looks good with an outfit...if not...I'm not out much money!  What do you think of this trend?

TWO

We decided to make fabric bowls for fun this week!  I have a big bag of scraps that we've been playing around with for a while.  This was easy and fun!  I think a smaller bowl might work nice for holding paper clips on a desk...maybe we'll do that next.

Check out my Mom's Recipe Box...She said she believes she got it as a gift when she got married.  Someday I need to copy the recipes inside!  This week I didn't have the money to try a new recipe, but tried something new anyway.  I decided to make a Bell Pepper Egg in a Hole...it turned out okay.  I like eggs and bell peppers so what could go wrong?

The little one always seems to have a remote in one hand and a phone in the other.  When the phone rings she says "Meema!" and when the door bell rings she says "Dada!"  It's really cute!

What's Up Wednesday

What I'm Loving...

This week I've enjoyed eating crabs, swimming, sleeping late, and watching the kids fish & play at the dock.

 

 

What I'm working on...

I want to get more active!  I hope I can walk with Trey on Mondays at the Beach as a "normal" thing, but something always seems to get in our way. 

 

The kids got active this week by kayaking...they LOVED it!

 

 

 What I've been watching...

Both of these shows really aren't the best but this is what I've been watching! I was #teamshawn, but I doubt they'll make it a year together and she'll be all like "I should've picked Nick!" when they fight! Ha!

I'm starting not to care who's "A" on Pretty Little Liars...but there's not much on TV to watch. 

Come on, you know I'm not going to pick up a book! :)

What I've been listening to...

The Elmo Slide has been popular this week with Hailey!

 
 What I'm wearing...

I love this cuff bracelet that I got at Target!  It goes with everything, and I've been wearing it all week!

I've also been wearing my glitter studs, and I'm drawn to aqua and greenish blue colors in tops.

 What I'm dreading...

Dreading the END of Summer Vacation with the kids!

Not looking forward to waking up early by an alarm clock and just school starting back up!!!

Friday Favorites!

 This week has gone by pretty FAST...just like Summer!  

~ Five on Friday ~

ONE:  Family

 

We all know we are blessed to have this little one with us! 

She has added a lot of joy to our family. She is so funny and makes us all laugh! This week she has been in love with blueberries & Elmo.  She has been able to spend time with her great-grandmother, who's in town!  We went to the Mall and got to feed butterflies!  It's so nice when family can be together.

 

Van was able to feed the butterflies, but the little butterfly didn't want to 

fly away when it was time for us to leave.

 

TWO: Living on the Island

It's a blessing to be living out on the Island!  It's like living in a small town ~ once you're on the Island it's hard to want to travel off of it!  If it wasn't for Target I don't know if I'd ever go anywhere!

 

Three:  Good Deals

I must be dreaming of Fall ~ it's like 100 degrees outside but Emily & I are thinking of Plaid & Scarfs!  

She found a cute outfit at the Mall this week and I got a plaid shirt in the mail, but also found a LOFT popover shirt at Goodwill. We had the fake fire going last night (imagining it wasn't hot!) and ate Chicken Soup for dinner.

 FOUR:  Church

 

I'm thankful we have been going to church.  I am glad that Emily enjoys Sunday School, but I wish Van enjoyed it too.  There's just not many kids his age at church.  Praying this will change.

FIVE:  Being Thankful

  Trying hard this week to focus on being thankful!

 

I've almost gotten everything needed for Back-To-School!  

$$ It sure does add up! $$

We have been eating really well this week!

 Wish this wasn't such a favorite for me!!  Thankful soda hasn't killed me yet :)

I'm so addicted ~ this is why I don't drink much alcohol.  

Maybe I'll be like this lady... ha ha
